Dr. Barbara Stevens - Owner/Founder
As a former executive leader and manager, Dr. Stevens built and directed complex data science programs. She provided deep expertise in applying big data analytic skills at the operational and analytic levels within the Intelligence Community.
She honed her analytic skills as a trainer in analytic tradecraft, as well as in leadership development. Additionally, she used her platform as an agency leader to advocate for the recruitment and retention of women and to promote diversity in highly technical fields.
Dr. Stevens holds a PhD from the Florida State University in Mathematical Statistics. Throughout her tenure with the US government, she maintained strong ties to academia by serving as the CIA Senior Champion for the University of New Mexico and as the Data Science Ambassador to the Insititute for Advanced Analytics at North Carolina State University. Prior to working with the US government, she served on the faculty in the Department of Statistics at the University of Georgia.
She has been repeatedly recognized for her leadership in turning around underperforming units - as an example, she was credited with transforming the DA's data science unit into a high performance team with a keen focus on delivering analytic insight to the front line.
Dr. Stevens was also described as being integral to the success of CIA's Leadership Academy. She has received multiple awards including the Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal for her innovative and transformative service during her career at the Central Intelligence Agency.
She has extensive experience in briefing high level audiences on analysis and analytics and has demonstrated expertise in teaching. As a manager in CIA’s Leadership Academy, her team developed an award-winning course for second-line managers recognized by the American Society for Training and Development.
She developed a course on Managing Creativity and a class on Situational Leadership for first-line supervisors. As an experienced leadership trainer, she was describes as being integral to the success of CIA’s Leadership Academy.
